AudiDome Munich
After the FC Bayern Munich basketball Team secured the license for the PRO-A-League in Germany in 2009, it was only a matter of time until it achieved its place in the first german basketball Bundes League. In May 2011 this was succeed.
The Vereinsturnhalle at Säbener Street for 1,500 visitors was definitely too small. The Bavarians decided very quickly, that the closed Rudi-Sedlmeier-Halle, which was built for the Olympic Games in 1972, and closed sinced 2003, had to be modernized at short notice, and newly used. The reconstruction of such a historic building represented a special challenge, to achieve the balance tradition and modernity. In addition to contemporary design and multifunctional possibilities of use, a maximum of comfort and safety had to be ensured.
In the narrow period of only 4 months until the beginning of the new Bundes League season 2011/2012, the existence of the FC Bayern Munich basketball, as well of the sponsor and the Audi name, was accomplished. The new AudiDome Arena was successfully renovated and put into use.
Contracted by FC Bayern Basketball, team members of vision4venue were responsible for the planning, conceptualization and execution.
